Come out Sunday to the fairgrounds and join us at the Main Food Pavilion for the popular Apple Peeling and Eating Contests! Cheer on your favorite contestant — or sign up at the display area and show your skills.

Hollis-Lowman Apple Peeling Contests

• Two classes — the winner presents the longest unbroken peel
• Use the provided knives, or your own hand-held peeler or knife • 15-minute time limit
• Winner: $50 cash and plaque • 2nd place: $25 cash and plaque • ribbons for 1st–3rd
• Previous Champions class: winner $50 cash and plaque, 2nd place $25 cash and plaque
• Held in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Roy W. Hollis and Mr. and Mrs. Richard R. Lowman, Jr.

Apple Eating Contests

• Three age classes: 8 and younger • 9–15 • 16 and older
• Eat an apple from a plate without using your hands — most apple in 2 minutes wins
• Each class: 1st place $10 cash and trophy, 2nd place $5 cash • ribbons for 1st–3rd
