Charlie Brown is a former professional athlete with the National Football League. He played for the Washington Redskins from 1981- 1984, helping them win SuperBowl XVII.

Brown also played with the Atlanta Falcons from 1985-1987. He was selected to play in two NFL Pro Bowls during his football career.

Brown attended Saint John's High School in the John's Island community of Charleston, South Carolina. He went on to attend South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina, where he played football for the Bulldogs. He helped lead the team to two MEAC Championships. He graduated with a degree in Physical Education.

Brown has coached on all three levels, high school, collegiate, and professional. He is also an educator having taught at schools in South Carolina and Georgia. He's coached at Mississippi Valley State University, Benedict College in Columbia, SC, Ridgeview High School in Columbia, SC, Baptist Hill High School in Charleston, SC, and Savannah High School in Savannah, GA. He is currently the head football coach at Kingstree High School in South Carolina.

Brown says coaching is his passion and he wants to share his knowledge of football with students and aspiring football players. He has formed the Brown-McCrone Foundation as a way to give back to the community. Through his foundation, he sponsors free football camps and clinics for student-athletes. Brown says his ultimate goal in life is to make a difference in the lives of young people and he seeks to do that through coaching and teaching football.
